Bards and Brews: Open Poetry Reading
Promoting performing arts
Join us for Open poetry mic night! Read your original poems, short stories or from your favorite poets. Come to listen and enjoy fresh coffee and homemade pastries! All are welcome, sign up when you arrive. April is National Poetry Month
In late May, the Caryl Sousy Memorial Scholarship is awarded, in addition to others sponsored by Cultural Arts. The Connecticut Community Foundation is our partner in managing this scholarship.

Make Music Day
June 21 is Make Music Day internationally. We support this fun appreciation day because it incorporates so many aspects of what we support in Cultural Arts: music (make music), creativity (writing music or making up a tune), artisanship (creating instruments out of everyday household items) and community (sharing your music)
Oxford Farmers Market
Preserving Culture; Promoting Artisans
Oxford locally grown and CT grown fruits, vegetables, eggs, and along with some local artisans bring their goods to the market weekly. June - October. Located in the front side parking lot at town hall, next to the fire department. This annual market is sponsored by the town of Oxford Agriculture Advisory Commission. The market hours are 10a-2pm.
Arts & Crafts Fair

The first Saturday in November is host to the annual Arts & Crafts Fair which has been an Oxford tradition for nearly 50 years! Artisans and crafters from Oxford and surrounding towns bring their wares out for sale just in time for the holidays! Unique curated items make for perfect one of a kind gifts for loved ones.
World Singing Day

The third Saturday in October is host to the annual World Singing Day! Singers unite to share in a day of song! Oxford Cultural Arts will be hosting a sing-a-long!
OXFORD CULTURAL ARTS CALENDAR
Jack Frost Contest
Winter kicks off the snowy season! Annually Dec 1 - March 1 we invite the community to build a snowman or snow sculpture and send us a picture or post it (must be a public post) and tag us @OxfordCulturalArts or use #OxfordJackFrost. Voting commences March 1-15 and the picture with the most "likes" will receive a Donut and Hot Chocolate/Coffee party (serves up to 20). Winner announced the week of March 15.
