Robin Michalak

Robin has been a proud resident of Oxford for over 33 years, where she lives with her husband. Together, they raised their daughter, who now resides in New Britain.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing and dedicated more than four decades to her career as a Registered Nurse. She retired from Griffin Hospital in July 2024 and continues to contribute her expertise per diem as a Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Her lifelong passions for music, theater, and gardening have shaped much of her community involvement. Robin has been an active member of The Orange Players since 1986, contributing both onstage and behind the scenes as a performer, technician, and producer. She has also served in leadership roles on the board, including a term as Co-President.

An accomplished choral singer, Robin has performed with several regional ensembles over the past 25 years, including the Connecticut Choral Society and the Waterbury Chorale. She currently serves as a cantor and soloist at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford, where she is a member of both the Contemporary and Traditional Choirs.

Robin is also a certified Master Gardener, having earned her certification in 2007 and advancing her credentials in 2010. Her work includes designing the original garden at the Twitchell-Rowland House and serving on Oxford’s Agricultural Advisory Committee. She is currently the Garden Leader for the Griffin Community Garden, part of the Valley Community Gardens initiative.

A longtime admirer of the Oxford Cultural Arts Commission, Robin has been an enthusiastic supporter of its events, including the annual Craft Fair and Spring Fair, where she previously organized a Master Gardener table. She is excited to bring her diverse background in the arts and horticulture to the Commission and looks forward to contributing to its continued growth and community impact.
